My love for beauty and exposure to the industry started when I was very young. My dad owned a barbershop/hair salon for over 20 years and my mom took me to the hairdressers every other weekend to get our hair done. From there I had various jobs in beauty supply stores and took great interest in the products, ingredients and how they interacted with hair. After I officially entered into the beauty industry as a formulator, I knew I wanted to create products of my own with healthier, high performing ingredients. Being surrounded by women who constantly expressed what was missing from products always made me feel like hair care for textured hair wasn’t thoughtfully formulated, or what is actually needed for our hair was misunderstood.
The top three hair care problems would be combating dryness, finding products that not only work instantly, but also give long term results and the number of products we have to use to achieve healthy hair. The OutNo.d products are multifunctional, meaning one product can be used in many different ways (i.e. our Lightweight Hydrating Hair Creme can be used as a leave-in conditioner, a heat and UV protectant, and a daily moisturizer). Each product also possesses many beneficial ingredients that fortify natural hair for long-term benefits.
Can you share any styling tips or advice for maintaining clean, all-natural hair and healthy hair?

Many products that are currently available to the Canadian consumer contain harsh ingredients which have been linked to negative health effects.
She should definitely consider whether or not the stylist has worked with her hair type before and most importantly the hair products they have in their kit! Be sure to tell your stylist that you would like to avoid styling products and techniques that will be harsh on the hair. It’s not worth the damage that can potentially be done.
