For Nicole Lindsay, founder of iEnvy Travel, travel is about more than reaching a destination it is about reconnecting, celebrating, and exploring.
Specializing in destination weddings, honeymoons, and group travel, iEnvy Travel offers personalized planning for experiences ranging from family vacations and luxury escapes to wellness retreats and worldwide adventures. In an era of AI-powered tools and online booking, Lindsay brings a unique perspective to help travellers navigate their options and plan with greater confidence.
In this exclusive conversation with The Wedding Planner & Lifestyle Magazine, iEnvy Travel discusses the value of personal expertise and shares actionable advice for aspiring travel advisors.
THE VALUE OF PERSONAL TRAVEL EXPERTISE
With so many travellers now turning to AI tools and online booking platforms, what does a personalized travel advisor make possible that clients may not experience when planning on their own?
“Having a personalized travel advisor gives clients something they have a limited amount of: time. AI tools are helpful for inspiration, research, and comparing options… However, they primarily tell you where to stay and what to visit. A travel advisor takes it one step further by learning what matters to each client, including their budget, travel style, family dynamics, accessibility needs, celebration goals, and the experience they want to create.”
Destination weddings, honeymoons, and group trips are usually once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and a travel advisor’s experience plays a pivotal role in making them successful.

With iEnvy Travel, clients are simply not just booking a flight and hotel. They have someone helping to connect all the pieces, advocate for them, and guide them from the first idea through their return home. Technology can help you find options; a personalized travel advisor helps turn those options into the right experience for you.
BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL CAREER IN TRAVEL
Drawing on your experience building iEnvy Travel, what advice would you share with aspiring travel advisors looking to succeed in today’s travel industry?
For anyone looking to enter the travel industry, I recommend starting with the basics and taking the time to really understand how the industry works. Once you feel comfortable, begin to narrow your focus and specialize in an area you’re passionate about.
It’s also important to build strong relationships with your Business Development Managers (BDMs). Their role is to support travel advisors, provide education, share supplier updates, and help you grow your business, making them an incredible resource.
Whenever possible, I also recommend visiting the destinations and properties you sell. First-hand experience gives you a level of confidence and insight that you simply can’t get from reading about a destination online. When you can speak from personal experience, clients can feel that authenticity.

If a client knows you’ve stayed at the resort, explored the destination, or experienced the excursion they’re considering, it creates a stronger connection and builds trust. You’re no longer just selling a trip; you’re sharing knowledge and helping them make a more informed decision.
